12 Cops Booked for Murder in UP

Lucknow: A dozen policemen were booked for allegedly killing a person after accusing him of cow slaughter in Deoband of Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district. These policemen include three sub-inspectors and nine constables. The incident occurred in September 2022.

As per reports, these policemen had called up the victim named Zeeshan alleging that he was involved in cow slaughter. Later his body was found in a forest. At that time the policemen had claimed that Zeeshan was shot dead by one of his friends.

Not satisfied with the police statement, relatives of the victim had filed a complaint in Deoband Kotwali against the policemen. They had alleged that Zeeshan was the victim of a fake encounter by some policemen. When no action was taken by the local police, they approached the court of law.

Investigation at the order of the court proved the guilt of 12 policemen. The court ordered to register a murder case against these erring policemen involved in the murder of Zeeshan.
