2 Killed, 15 Injured as Van, Auto, Bike Collide on Puri-Konark Marine Drive

Puri: Two persons were killed and over 15 were injured after a Travera van, an auto-rickshaw and a motorbike collided on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive on Sunday morning. Four of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

The driver of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot, while the other deceased,  identified as Amulu, a woman from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

According to reports, the vehicles were moving at high speed when the accident occurred near the Hemalata Engineering College. Due to the high impact of the collision, both vehicles overturned on the spot. The van was carrying tourists from Puri to Konark.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and rushed all injured persons to the District Headquarters Hospital in Puri. Doctors declared two of the injured as brought dead. Over 15 others who sustain injuries are undergoing treatment now.
