2 Killed, 30 Injured As Bus Falls Off Bridge in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Two passengers lost their lives, while over 30 were injured after a tourist bus fell off a bridge near Panchubati under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Renubala Jena and Bijayalakshmi Swain of Ichhapur village in Kendrapara district.

Reportedly, the passenger bus named Nilamadhab lost control and fell into a canal after breaking the bridge railing.

The injured were first admitted to the Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital. Later, 15 of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.

According to sources, there were 43 passengers on the bus who had gone for a tour to Bolangir and Sambalpur from Ichhapur village in Kendrapara district.

After receiving the information, police reached the spot and began to probe.
