2 Killed, 4 Critical After Poclain Machine Dashes Into SUV At Garjanbahal Mine

Sundergarh: Two persons were killed while four others sustained critical injuries after a Poclain machine dashed into an SUV at the Garjanbahal coal mine of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) under Hemgiri police limits in Sundargarh district.

According to reports, the accident occurred while the employees were changing shifts when the porcelain machine that was stationed atop a coal pile suddenly came crashing down and mounted itself on the SUV parked below.  Subsequently, six persons of whom two died on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries.

Following this, tension was triggered at the Garjanbahal coal mine and neighbouring areas.

On being informed, police reached the spot and tried to pacify the agitated miners.
