2 Soldiers Killed, 4 including Officer Injured in Encounter With Terrorists in J&K’s Rajouri

Srinagar: Two soldiers were martyred, and four others including an officer were wounded during an encounter between two to three terrorists and security forces on Friday morning in the Kandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Army team has suffered 2 fatal casualties with injuries to 4 more soldiers including an officer during the joint operation in the Kandi Forest in the Rajouri as the terrorists triggered an explosive device in retaliation, informed Army sources.

According to army officials, these terrorists were members of the same outfit that ambushed an army truck on April 20 in Poonch killing five soldiers.

According to officials, the exchange of fire was going on at Doke in the Banyari Hills of Rajouri district.

On Thursday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Baramulla district. On Wednesday, two terrorists were killed after an infiltration bid was foiled by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army near the Pichnad Machil sector in Kupwara.
