3-Day State Mourning for Naba Das; Tricolour to Fly at Half-Mast

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has announced to accord state honour to Naba Kishore Das, former Minister of Health and Family Welfare who passed away in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar while undergoing treatment on Sunday. Naba Das was shot by an ASI in Jharsuguda during a visit to his home constituency on Sunday.

According to an official statement, the national flag was flown at half-mast on Sunday and it will also be done on the day of his funeral. “No official entertainment for three days from January 29 to January 31 throughout the state,” the statement added.

A number of Odisha ministers, including the Ministers for Parliamentary Affairs; Finance; Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment; Employment; Fisheries & Animal Resources Development; Commerce; Transport; and Water Resources will pay homage to the mortal remains of Naba Kishore Das on behalf of the state government. Late Naba Das will be accorded state honour during the funeral at the cremation site in Jharsuguda, the Home Department release said.
