3 Killed, 4 Critical In Road Mishap In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: At least three persons were killed while five others sustained critical injuries in a road mishap near the toll plaza at Padhanpali in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Punam Bag (13), Nemsika Bag (8), and Benudhar Bag (19), all residents of Bhamarmal village under Kesinga police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

According to reports, the incident occurred while an auto-rickshaw coming from Salasar Rice Mill in New Khurigaon with six passengers was going toward Khetrajpur railway station and crashed against a stationary truck.

The injured were rushed to the VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Burla where three passengers succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while the others have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

On being informed, police arrived at the spot and seized both vehicles and launched a probe into the mishap.
