3 Killed 6 Injured as Pick-up Van Rams Truck in Jajpur

Jajpur: At least three persons died and six others were seriously injured in a major road accident at Charinangal Square on NH 53 in Jajpur district on Saturday morning. This accident occurred when a pick-up van rammed a truck.

According to reports, there were nine in the pickup van that was traveling from Chandikhole to Paradip. One person died on the spot. Other injured persons were initially transported to Badachana Hospital. Later they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where two of them succumbed to their injuries.

Condition of two more injured persons is said to be critical. It is suspected that low visibility due to fog and rash driving by the driver of the pick-up van may be the reason behind this mishap.
