7 of West Bengal Killed in Road Accident in Jajpur

Jajpur: At least seven persons from West Bengal died when a chicken-loaded mini-truck collided with a parked truck at Neulpur on the National Highway-16 in Jajpur district on Saturday morning. The deceased persons were traveling in the chicken-laden mini-truck.

This mini-truck with chicken stock was traveling from Kolkata to Bhubaneswar. The driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a damaged truck parked in Neulpur area on the NH-16. Dense fog in the wee hours is said to be the reason behind this accident.

Six victims died on the spot, while one injured person was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he succumbed to injuries. All the deceased persons were from 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck with which the chicken-laden mini-truck collided had met with an accident four days back. Since then the damaged trucks was parked on the roadside.
