70-Yr-Old Woman Gang Raped by Friends of Son-In-Law

Bengaluru: In an outrageous incident, a 70-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by two friends of her son-in-law at Shettigehalli in Kunigal taluk of Karnataka.

According to police sources, this incident occurred on May 21 night. But an FIR was filed against the accused on Saturday (May 27).

The accused, identified as Rajesha and Manjunatha from Kunigal town absconded after committing the shocking crime. They were friends of the son-in-law of the victim, and had come to attend the granddaughter’s wedding of the woman they raped. They are alleged to have committed the crime in an inebriated state.

Meanwhile, the septuagenarian was admitted to a government hospital. Following a complaint by the son-in-law of the woman, Kunigal police registered a case under IPC 376(rape), 506 (threatening with life) and prevention of atrocity act 2015.
