Blast Kills At least 5 in Afghanistan

A sudden explosion in a bus killed at least five persons in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday. At least four others were injured in this blast. Workers of Hairatan Oil Company were traveling in this vehicle.

As reported by Reuters, Mohammad Asif Wazeri, police spokesman for the northern province of Balkh in Afghanistan said, “Today at around 7 am a blast took place in … Balkh on a bus which belonged to Hairatan oil employees”. According to him, at least four people were seriously injured in this blast.

The cause of the blast had not been ascertained. Police have not ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack.

Hairatan town in Afghanistan’s Balkh province is near the Uzbekistan border with rail and road links to Central Asia.
