Ajit Agarkar New Chairman of Selectors for Men’s Cricket Team

New Delhi: Former fast-bowler and all-rounder Ajit Agarkar was appointed as the chairman of selectors for India’s men’s cricket team.

The three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has unanimously recommended Ajit Agarkar for the said position.

Ajit Agarkar represented India in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is. He has also played 110 first-class, 270 List A, and 62 T20 matches. He was in the India team that won the inaugural T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007.

Following his playing career, he was appointed as the Chief Selector for the senior Mumbai team.

Ajit Agarkar will fill up the post that remained vacant since Chetan Sharma’s exit in February. Sharma resigned from the national selection committee following a sting operation video that showed the former chief selector making several controversial revelations about the Indian team.
