Anganwadi Workers Hold Protest Demonstration in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Anganwadi workers of Odisha gathered up to hold a protest demonstration in Bhubaneswar on Friday for their 9-point charter of demands.

They had got together under the banner of the All Odisha Anganwadi Ladies Workers Association. They staged their protest demonstration at Lower PMG of the capital city.

The demands of the agitating Anganwadi workers included recognition as government employees, Rs 18,000 monthly salary for Anganwadi workers, Rs 9,000 monthly salary for their helpers, retirement benefit of Rs 5 lakh and monthly pension of Rs 5000 after retirement.

They claimed that some other states had hiked the monthly payments of Anganwadi workers.

The agitators said they would continue their protest until all of their demands were fulfilled.
