House Surgeons Take Up Cease-Work Agitation Protesting Assault on Medico at Balangir’s Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital

Balangir: The house surgeons of Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir started a cease-work agitation and dharna protesting an alleged assault on a house surgeon of the medical college.

As per reports, a miscreant identified as Samir Badamali allegedly assaulted a house surgeon of the hospital, Biswaranjan Sahu on Thursday. The injured house surgeon is admitted to the ICU of the hospital in serious condition. Following the attack, the house surgeons are sitting on dharna since Thursday night demanding immediate arrest of the attacker under the National Security Act (NSA).

Balangir district Collector and SP held discussions with the agitating house surgeons. The superintendent of the medical college also interacted with the agitating students to persuade them to call off the agitation.
