Bandh in Jharbandh under Padampur Constituency

Padampur: While the assembly constituency is agog with election campaign activities, a 12-hour bandh was observed at Jharbandh under Padampur assembly segment of Bargarh district on Monday.

Locals resorted to this bandh call for a list of 12 demands. The agitating villagers alleged that basic amenities were still a dream for them. Their demands include the upgradation of the local PHC into a CHC, the establishment of a JFMC court, and a +2 college in their area. New buildings in schools, drinking water facilities, and better veterinary care are also in their demand list.

Normal life was disrupted in Jharbandh because of this bandh. All shops, business establishments and schools remained closed. Protestors tried to stop vehicles passing through the village by holding demonstrations on the road.

Political parties cannot ignore this bandh as polling for Padampur by-election is to be held on December 5.
