BJP Names Its CM Candidate For Gujarat

Gandhinagar: BJP is not interested in changing its Chief Minister if the party comes back to power in Gujarat. The party wants Bhupendra Patel to continue as the CM if BJP secures a majority in coming assembly polls. This was informed by BJP’s senior leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Ahemdabad on Monday.

Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. The party is seeking a seventh consecutive term in the state.

BJP’s CM candidate, Bhupendra Patel replaced Vijay Rupani in September 2021.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also declared Isudan Gadhvi as its chief ministerial candidate. He was chosen through a “public survey”. But the Congress has not declared any name for the CM’s post in Gujarat.

On December 1 and 5, voting will be held for 182 assembly seats in Gujarat. The counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.
