BMC Imposes Rs 5 Lakh Fine of Pan Masala Company for Unauthorised Advertisement

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on a pan masala company for putting up unauthorized gates on the road to advertise its products.

The said pan masala company had erected the temporary gate with its advertisements on the streets of the Shahid Nagar area without BMC permission. The BMC authorities found that without obtaining necessary permission, the company had been advertising on Bhubaneswar road since December 11.

The civic body’s squad slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the concerned company and also filed a case against it.

With this, the BMC reiterated that putting up any poster, banner, or hoarding in the BMC area without permission can attract a hefty fine.

Earlier GenX Fertility Care at Unit-3, Annapurna Tent House at Jharpada, Jaydev Academy in Shahid Nagar were fined Rs 50,000 each for putting up posters, banners and hoardings for promotion, without obtaining necessary permission from the BMC.
