BMC To Roll Out Drones To Tackle Mosquito Menace

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is preparing to implement drone operations to tackle the mosquito menace.

Reportedly, the drone will be used to spray chemicals in the inaccessible areas of the city, informed commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange.

Corporation officials said the civic body is gearing up to switch to full-fledged drone operations and residents will be able to notice a difference almost immediately.

The civic body hired the drones following a rise in complaints of mosquito menace.

As portable machines can be easily carried inside residential premises and buildings for fogging it will prove helpful in combating mosquito-borne diseases.
