“Boycott Pathaan”, Demand Muslim Organisations

Controversies are not letting go Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s starrer ‘Pathaan’ since the release of its song “Besharam Rang’. Earlier Hindu organizations and leaders had opposed the saffron bikini worn by Deepika. Now Madhya Pradesh’s Ulema Board has demanded that the movie should not be released. The board called for a boycott of the film ‘Pathaan’.

President of Madhya Pradesh’s Ulema Board Syed Anas Ali said that because of ‘obscenity’ this movie should be stopped from hitting the theatres. He alleged that Islam has been propagated with an incorrect approach in the film.

All India Muslim Festival Committee has also protested against Shah Rukh’s film ‘Pathaan’. This Muslim organization has announced that the film will not be allowed to be released anywhere in the entire country. Muslim organizations opposing Pathaan’s film are accusing Shah Rukh Khan of defaming the religion.

“A film named Pathaan has been made in which Shah Rukh Khan is the hero, people see him and like him. But we have received calls and complaints and they have expressed anger over the obscenity that has been spread inside this film and Islam has been propagated wrongly,” Syed Anas Ali said.

Syed Anas Ali has also recommended to the Haj Committee not to provide a visa to Shah Rukh Khan for Umrah.

Syed Anas Ali appealed to the people of the government, the jawans, not to watch this film. “It is our right not to compromise on how someone will present our Islam, our religion,” Syed Anas Ali said.

According to him, such films are made to make fun of Islam and Muslims. They should be opposed. “Pathans are a highly respected community but they have been portrayed in a very wrong way in the film,” he added.

‘Pathaan’ is to be released in theatres on January 25, 2023.
