Canada’s Hindu Temple Vandalized with Anti-India Graffitti

Unidentified miscreants vandalized a Hindu temple with ‘anti-India’ graffiti in Canada’s Brampton province. This incident shocked the Indian community in India. It was the Gauri Shankar temple in Brampton.

Through a statement, the Indian Consulate General in Toronto condemned the attack on the Gauri Shankar temple in Brampton.

“The hateful act of vandalism has deeply hurt sentiments of the Indian community in Canada. We have raised our concerns on the matter with Canadian authorities,” a statement from the consulate office said.

Brampton Mayor also condemned the defacing of the temple, which according to him is a symbol of Indian heritage. “This hateful act of vandalism has no place in our city or country,” he tweeted.

In January 2023, three Hindu temples in Australia were defaced by anti-India graffiti put up by Khalistani groups.
