Centre Convenes All-Party Meet for G20 Summit Preparations

New Delhi: To inform all leaders about India’s preparations for the G20 meets that would be convened in the country in next one year, Central government has called up an all-party meeting in New Delhi on December 5.

Quoting a senior political leader, a news agency has reported that party presidents of 40 political parties have been invited to this meeting. This meeting will be attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

This all-party meeting is expected to be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. India will officially take over the G20 Presidency from December 1.

The next G20 Leaders’ Summit of heads of states is scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. Apart from it several other G20 meetings will also be held in different parts of the country.

Interestingly West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee has also agreed to take part in this December 5 all-party meeting for preparations for the G20 Summit.
