Child Marriage Stopped in Bhubaneswar; Minor Rescued

Bhubaneswar: Childline officials and Chandrasekharpur police jointly stopped a child marriage in the city. They also rescued the minor girl who was allegedly forced to get married.

According to sources,  Childline officials, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), and Chandrasekharpur police intervened in time to stop the wedding between a 15-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man in Niladri Vihar area under Chandrasekharpur police station limits.

Chadrasekharpur police have registered an FIR in this connection. The rescued girl child was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

The rescued girl child was then shifted to the VJSS Open Shelter at Kalinga Vihar.
