Crack Discovered in Chennai Exp Coach; Major Mishap Averted in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Railway personnel at the Sengottai station in Tamil Nadu detected a crack at the base of a coach of the Kollam-Chennai Egmore Express on Sunday. Because of the timely discovery of the crack in the railway compartment, it could be immediately removed from the train ensuring the safety of the passengers traveling in the express train.

The S3 coach of the Kollam-Chennai Egmore Express had developed the crack. It was immediately detached from the train. The passengers in the compartment were transferred to an adjacent coach.

Because of it, the departure of the said train from Sengotai was delayed by an hour. At Madurai station, a new coach was added to the train to replace the removed S3 coach.
