Drunken Man Beats Wife To Death In Balasore

Balasore: A drunken man allegedly beat his wife to death at Gahiraband village in Jaleswar block of Balasore district late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Manjulata Murmu.

According to reports, an altercation between Manjulata and his husband Durga Murmu after he returned home in an inebriated state on Wednesday night. Their dispute took an ugly turn and Durga started thrashing his wife brutally killing her on the spot.

However, the locals managed to nab Durga as he tried to flee the spot after committing the crime and handed him over to Raibania police.

Police have sent Manjulata’s body for post-mortem and arrested Durga. Further investigation is underway in this regard.
