Earthquake of 4.7 Magnitude Shakes Ladakh’s Kargil

New Delhi: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit Ladakh’s Kargil district on Tuesday, reported the National Centre for Seismology.

The epicentre of this quake was located at 7.38 am at 401 kilometres north of Kargil, said the National Centre for Seismology.

The Himalayan region is earthquake-prone. This recent earthquake occurred at a latitude of 38.12 degrees and a longitude of 76.82 degrees at a depth of 150 km.

But there were no reports of injuries, casualties or damage to property because of this quake.
