ED Interrogates Sisodia Again in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) started the second round of interrogation of Delhi’s former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia at the Tihar Jail. The AAP leader is being questioned in connection with the money-laundering probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy.

ED officials are expected to question him about the alleged change and destruction of cell phones that were in his possession and the policy decisions and the timeline followed by him as the excise minister of Delhi. These charges were made against Sisodia in the chargesheets filed before the court.

On March 7, the ED recorded the statement of the 51-year-old AAP leader for the first time. On that day he was grilled by the ED for about five hours.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26. Now he is in judicial custody and lodged in Tihar Jail. He was arrested in connection with alleged corruption in the formation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi liquor or excise policy for 2021-22.

The ED is questioning Sisodia through permission obtained from a local court. Sisodia is now housed in cell number 1 of the jail.
