Following Huge Loss in Online Trading Youth Jumps Into Mahanadi River

Cuttack: A youth from Bhubaneswar, identified as Mrutyunjay Manik jumped into the Mahanadi river from the Jobra barrage in Cuttack on Tuesday following a huge loss in online trading.

His body is yet to be traced despite search operations by the personnel of Odisha Fire Services on the second day on Wednesday.

According to the family members of the missing youth, he had initially lost Rs 10 lakh in online trading. Recently he suffered another loss of Rs 4 lakh.

According to his family members, before jumping into the river, the youth had sent a text message to his sister that read, “I have committed a mistake. Don’t search for me and I have lost.”

Meanwhile, the personnel of Odisha Fire Services are also searching for one Anup Agarwal, who allegedly jumped into Mahandi river from Madhusudan Setu on Tuesday night.
