Forced by Technical Snag Air India Express Flight Returns Back to Airport

Thiruvananthapuram: Technical problem compelled an Air India Express flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Muscat in Oman to return back to the airport a few minutes after its take-off.

According to sources, the Oman-bound plane had shown technical snags in its onboard computer system a few minutes after the takeoff. The pilots decided to return back the plane to Thiruvananthapuram for the safety of the passengers and crew members.

It was flight, IX 549 of Air India that took off from the capital city of Kerala at 8.30 AM on Monday. It again returned back to land at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport at 9.17 AM.

Air India authorities have declared that all 105 passengers and the cabin crew of the plane were safe. An alternate plane is being arranged to take the passengers to Muscat.
