Gang Rape Case: Sundergarh District Court Awards 20 Years RI To 3 Accused

Sundergarh: The district court and Circuit Judge in Sundergarh sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to three persons for gang-raping a widow woman in a moving car.

The convicts have been identified as Sonu Soi, Indru Kerketa, and Pravin Barla.

Reportedly, the court awarded the verdict based on the testimony and evidence of 21 people. The court has also ordered that the convicts would have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 each and in case of default they will serve two additional months of imprisonment.”

According to case details, the incident occurred on November 29, 2015. The accused persons offered lift to the survivor while she was returning home in Rajgangpur police station limits and outraged her modesty in a moving car and later dropped her on the roadside near her house.
