Gas Tanker Overturns on NH-16, Locals Panic-Stricken For Gas Leakage

Bhawanipatna: A gas tanker en route to Raipur from Bhawanipatna overturned on NH-16. The vehicle overturned at Pastipada in Karlapada area of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

Due to the overturning of the tanker, gas started billowing out leaving the residents of the area panic-stricken.

According to sources, the tanker truck of Bharat Petroleum was heading towards Raipur from Bhawanipatna this morning. The driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheels due to reduced visibility on the road due to foggy conditions.

After receiving information, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and initiated efforts to control the leakage.

To avoid any further incidents, the electricity supply was disconnected. Locals were also advised not to cook or light fire anywhere.

The movement of vehicles on the road was disrupted due to the mishap.
