Goods Train Derails Affecting Rail Traffic on Koraput-Rayagada Route

Koraput: Derailment of wagons of goods train in the Rayagada district on Sunday night affected rail services on the Koraput-Rayagada route.

According to railway authorities, this goods train with empty wagons was travelling from Damanjodi in Koraput to Rayagada. Two wagons of this train got derailed while passing the Keutaguda railway station in Rayagada. This derailment occurred at around 8.30 pm.

The driver of the loco informed the station master and a technical team reached the spot of derailment with equipment and staff to put the derailed wagons on the track.

This derailment affected the movement of other trains on the Koraput-Rayagada route has been affected. Several trains were diverted. The Hirakhand Express from Jagdalpur to Bhubaneswar was delayed due to it.

On February 7, six wagons of a goods train had derailed near Koraput railway station.
