Hindu temple in US targeted by Burglars, Donation-Box Stolen

Shocking the Indians in the US, Sri Omkarnath Temple in the Brazos valley of Texas of America was targeted by burglars, reported KBTX-TV on Friday. It is the only Hindu temple in Brazos valley.

According to the temple management, the miscreants entered the closed temple by breaking through the side window. Initial findings hint that the burglars escaped with the donation box and a safe kept inside the temple. Valuables of the temple were kept in this safe.

The priest and his family who live in an apartment right behind the temple were not harmed by the miscreants.

CCTV cameras in the temple captured the burglary attempt. The video clip shows a person ignoring the deities and going straight to the donation box. The suspect used the temple’s cart to wheel the heavy donation box out of the temple.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office has started an investigation to nab the burglars.
