Husband of Murdered Jharkhand Actress Arrested in Bengal

Kolkata: Prakash Kumar, the husband of Jharkhand’s actress and YouTuber Riya Kumari, was arrested by Bengal police on Thursday.

Prakash had alleged that Riya Kumari was shot dead by armed robbers on the national highway in the Howrah district of West Bengal on Wednesday morning.

But family members of the deceased actress lodged a complaint against  Prakash Kumar. According to them, Riya Kumari was the second wife of Prakash Kumar. They also named his first wife as co-accused in the murder case.

According to family members of Riya Kumari, her husband was jealous of her popularity and income from YouTube. They alleged that Prakash Kumari was regularly physically and mentally torturing her. His first wife was the alleged instigator. They claimed that Prakash Kumar was taking away a major portion of the income of Riya Kumari’s YouTube income.

Police also found inconsistencies in the statements of Prakash Kumar during interrogation. Investigating police officials sensed something foul. Now it is suspected that the assailants may have been hired by Prakash Kumar. An investigation is on.
