IT Raids on BJD Workers in Bypoll bound Padampur

Bargarh: Income Tax officials conducted simultaneous raids at houses of three BJD workers in Padampur assembly segment on Monday. Armed CRPF jawans were deployed during the raids, reports said.

According to sources, the BJD workers facing IT raids are Md Sajid of Bahidarpada, Manabhanjan Sahu of Sahupada and Gaju Agrawal of Badapada area in poll-bound Padampur. All of them are businessmen closed to BJD leaders.

Mohammed Sajid was a close associate of the Padampur MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha, who passed away recently. Because of his demise bypoll is being held in Padampur assembly constituency.

The reason behind the raids and what was unearthed through it is yet to be confirmed.
