Key ISIS Terrorist Leader Killed in US Helicopter Attack in Syria

A senior leader of the terrorist organization ISIS was killed in a US helicopter raid in northern Syria; informed Pentagon in a statement. The slain ISIS leader was accused of planning attacks in the Middle East and Europe.

According to the Pentagon, the aerial raid targeted Abd-al-Hadi Mahmud al-Haji Ali on Monday (local time) following intelligence reports that he was planning for kidnapping of officials abroad by the ISIS terrorists.

“Though degraded, ISIS (Islamic State) remains able to conduct operations within the region with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East,” General Michael Kurilla, who heads the US Central Command (CENTCOM), said in an earlier statement.

It said two other armed people were killed in the raid and no civilians were harmed.

Islamic State once controlled one-third of Iraq and Syria at its peak in 2014. Though it was beaten back in both countries, its militants continue to wage terrorist attacks.
