Killer Husband Hides Murdered Wife’s Body at Home for 18 Months

Eranakulam: A man was arrested by Eranakulam police in Kerala for murdering his wife and hiding her body in his home for 18 months. The accused had buried the body of his wife on the premises of his house around a year and a half back.

Ramya, the wife of the accused named Sajeev had gone missing in August 2021. But the accused Sanjeev filed a missing complaint with Njarakkal police in February 2022.

Detail scientific investigation by the police revealed that Sajeev was behind her murder. As statements of Sajeev drew suspicion, he was kept under surveillance for more than a year. The investigating police officials could gather ample evidence against him during this time that led to his arrest.

Initial reports say, following a heated argument over phone calls, Sajeev had killed his wife Ramya. Sajeev preferred to bury her body near his house, where he continued to stay fro around 18 months. He continued to allege that Ramya had eloped with someone and had started preparing for a second marriage.

But police could recover the remains of the murdered woman’s body from Sajeev’s house. Following it, he was arrested on charges of murder and for destroying evidence.
