Sundargarh: A leopard was spotted roaming Gelebahal village under Badgaon Forest Range in Odisha’s Sundargarh district in the wee hours of Wednesday. Panic prevailed among villagers after seeing the leopard on the agricultural field adjoining their village.
As the news of spotting the leopard spread, a large number of people gathered on the periphery of their village with sticks and started shouting to scare the big cat away. According to reports, taken aback by the shouting and gathering of villagers, the leopard reportedly fled the spot and took shelter in a nearby forest.
On being informed, forest department officials reached the spot and are keeping an eye on the movement of the leopard.
