Mamata Yojana Financial Assistance Doubled to Rs 10000 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared to double the financial assistance provided to expectant mothers under the Mamata Yojana from existing Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

The beneficiaries of the scheme in Odisha will get the assistance amount at the enhanced rate in two phases with retrospective effect from August 2023.

Now this assistance will be paid in two phases of Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000. The the arrear amount will be remitted to each beneficiary between February 20 and February 25.

The Mamata Yojana scheme was launched in Odisha in 2011 to prevent child as well as maternal mortality rates as well as to reduce malnutrition.

As per the provision, the first phase of financial assistance will be paid six months after conception and the second phase will be paid when a child attains the age of ten months. All pregnant women above 19 years of age are eligible for financial assistance for their two living children.
