Man Involved in Mayurbhanj Tiger Skin Seizure Case Arrested

Mayurbhanj: The main accused in the Royal Bengal Tiger skin seizure case was arrested by the special task force of Odisha police on Saturday.

The accused was identified as Purna Chandra Majhi alias Chagulu alias Tambudu. He had procured the tiger skin which was seized from the possession of Dev Kumar Patra at Sridamchandrapur village under Udala tehsil on December 14, 2022. Chagulu was missing ever since the tiger skin was seized.

As per the official statement, a team of STF of Odisha Police and forest officials of Baripada Forest Division conducted a joint raid and nabbed Chagulu, a resident of Sasangabeda village under Udala police station in the Mayurbhanj district.

“Chaghulu was arrested on December 30 and forwarded to the court of SDJM, Udla. With him, a total of four accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to the court. The investigation is on,” said the official statement.
