Match Delayed as Two Bihar Cricket Teams Turn Up for Ranji Match Against Mumbai!

Patna: It may sound unbelievable but two teams claiming to be Bihar Ranji Trophy Squad turned up at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna on Friday for the match against Mumbai.

The arrival of the two teams led to an altercation and scuffle between the officials of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), which required intervention from the local police. Because of this the match was delayed and started at around 1 pm.

The team that had reached the ground first was selected by the BCA president Rakesh Tiwary. Another team picked by the BCA secretary Amit Kumar also reached the stadium claiming to play the match. Interestingly not a single cricketer was named in both the squads.

Eventually, the team selected by the BCA president played the match on Friday.

In a statement, BCA blamed the suspended secretary Amit for the chaos, and said, “There was a life-threatening attack on BCA’s OSD Manoj Kumar by those involved in the fake team. The miscreants have been identified and action will be taken against them.”

Put to bat first, Mumbai finished the opening day with 235 for nine
