Minor Girl Commits Suicide After Family Rejects Relationship With Youth

Jajpur: A minor girl allegedly committed suicide after her family rejected her relationship with a local youth. The case has come to the fore from Badabalikuda village under Balichandrapur police station in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

According to sources,  the minor girl was in a relationship with one Sagar Biswal who was from the same area. But,  the girl’s family members were against their relationship. They had also warned her of facing dire consequences.

After the family rejected their relationship, the youth and the girl decided to end their lives. As planned by them, the girl and the youth reached a secluded place near Bachhabata Government High School late at night. The girl first killed herself.

The death of the girl left the youth in a panic state. He informed the matter to police over the phone.

Balichandrapur police rushed to the spot and held the youth.

The father of the deceased claimed that his daughter was murdered.

“My daughter has not committed suicide. She has been murdered. We want justice and stern punishment against the culprit,” he alleged.

Whether it was a suicide or murder is not confirmed yet. Police have started to probe.
