Miscreants Fire At OSRTC Bus In Koraput, Narrow Escape For Passengers

Koraput: Passengers of a Berhampur-bound Odisha State Regional Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus had narrowly escaped when bullet shots were fired upon the vehicle late on Thursday night.

According to reports, the incident took place while the bus was crossing Baipariguda when some unidentified miscreants reportedly fired at the bus just 100 metres from the Baipariguda police station. Fortunately, no passengers were harmed in the incident.

An FIR has been launched following the attack and the bus was detained by the police. Further investigation is underway in this regard.

It is worth mentioning here that the area has been infested with Maoists and their sympathisers.
