Naba Das Murder: Gopal Das Undergoes Narco, Polygraph Tests In Gandhinagar

Bhubaneswar: The dismissed policeman who killed Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, has undergone narco-analysis and polygraph tests as part of the investigation in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Thursday.

A court in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Wednesday extended the police remand of the accused, Gopal Das, till February 13.

Gopal Das, who shot dead Odisha health minister Naba Kisore Das in broad daylight, was taken to Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Wednesday for narco-analysis and polygraph tests.

An Odisha Crime Branch Team led by Additional Director General (Crime Branch) Arun Bothra took a flight to Ahmedabad with Gopal Das for the purpose.

The State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) in Bhubaneswar is not having the facility to conduct narco-analysis and brain-mapping tests.

So, Gopal was taken to Gujarat for these tests. The court and the accused have given permission for the polygraph and narco-analysis tests.

Earlier, the Crime Branch had conducted a layered voice analysis (LVA) test of the accused with the support of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, New Delhi. Psychiatrists from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS) evaluated Gopal’s psychological conditions.

These reports will ascertain whether Gopal is really mentally diseased or he is pretending.
In the Gandhinagar laboratory, the accused Gopal will be administered drugs like sodium pentothal, scopolamine, and sodium amytal during the narco-analysis test.

It will take him to a hypnotic state when he is more likely to disclose information, which would usually not be revealed in the conscious state.

Through it, the exact reason behind the murder of Odisha health minister Naba Das as well as the possibility of other conspirators behind it can be known.
