Naba Das Murder: No Clue to Motive from Gopal’s Lie Detector Test

Bhubaneswar: As per the order of the court and consent of the accused, the first round of polygraph test of the police ASI Gopal Krushna Das who allegedly shot dead former Odisha health minister Naba Kishore Das on January 29 at Brajarajnagar, was conducted in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Thursday.

However, the police failed to establish the crime motive from the polygraph test, reported The Statesman. The polygraph test is popularly known as the lie detector test.

On January 29, Naba Das was shot at Brajrajnagar town of Jharsuguda district by an Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) of Police, Gopal Das. The BJD politician and state minister succumbed to bullet injuries at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

In an official statement, Odisha Crime Branch said, the polygraph test of the accused Gopal Das was conducted at State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) of Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS) Gandhinagar, Gujarat strictly in conformity with judicial order.
