Non-Bailable Warrant Against Imran Khan

A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, in connection with a case about threatening Khatoon Judge Zeba Chaudhry. The court order asked Imran Khan to be produced in court on March 29.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan was scheduled to appear in court today. But citing security concerns, he filed a plea seeking exemption from attendance in court. The Pakistani court rejected former PM Imran Khan’s plea and issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him, reported Geo News of Pakistan.

In August 2022, Imran Khan while addressing a political rally alleged that his special assistant Shahbaz Gill was being tortured in custody. During that speech, Imran Khan allegedly threatened judge Zeba Chaudhry and said that she should “prepare herself as action would be taken against her”.

Immediately after Imran Khan’s remark, an FIR was lodged against him for threatening the judge.

Imran Khan was asked to appear in court today in connection with this case. Following his absence, the court ordered a non-bailable arrest warrant.
