Odia Film Industry Mourns Demise of Pintu Nanda

Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood actor Pintu Nanda passed away on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. He died at the age of 45.

He was shifted to Hyderabad from Delhi for advanced treatment of his chronic liver disease, recently. The actor was suffering from Liver cirrhosis for the last several months.

Odia cine industry is mourning the demise of the popular actor.

“I had a personal relationship with Pintu Nanda. With the death of Pintu, a void has been created in the Odia film industry. His realistic acting will no longer be seen on the silver screen. We all are shocked,” said Cine Critic Surya Deo.

“I have no words to express my feelings. He was a talented actor. He was so talented that he could have led the next generation of actors,” said Ollywood Senior Actor Ashrumochan Mohanty on the demise of Pintu Nanda.

“At first, we couldn’t believe the news. We were hopeful that he would return and entertain all of us again. He was one of the most talented actors. All I can say is we have lost a good actor,” said Ollywood Actress Usasi Mishra. 

The actor’s body will reach Bhubaneswar today evening. His last rites will most probably be performed tomorrow at Swargadwara in Puri, informed General Secretary of Cine Artistes Association Sritam Das.
