Umesh Pal Case: Over 40 Properties of Atiq Ahmed Under Police Scanner

Prayagraj: The Prayagraj police and district administration have shortlisted 40 properties of gangster and Prime Accused of Umesh Pal Murder Case Atiq Ahmed. The cops are scanning records to establish whether they were procured through illegitimate means.

Officials of police, revenue and Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) are collecting details of properties in localities like Kasari Masari, Kareli, Harwara, Sadiapur, Mundera, Atala, Gaddopur and other pockets of the district.

Earlier, the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) started demolishing the house of the aide of infamous gangster Atiq Ahmed. Atiq Ahmed is the prime accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.

The house is located in Chakia under the Kareli police station of Prayagraj. The house is said to be illegally constructed. The house is estimated to be around Rs 2.5 Crore.

Umesha Pal was the key witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal. He was gunned down outside his residence in Prayagraj in broad daylight on February 24. On the fateful day, armed men opened fire on Pal and two policemen outside his residence in the Sulem Sarai area of Prayagraj. Umesh Pal and one of the policemen, Sandeep Nishad died on the spot while another security personnel, Raghvendra Singh is critical.

The accused in the Umesh Pal case are under custody.
