Mother Dies of Heart Attack Seeing Son’s Death Due to Snakebite

Sundargarh: A woman died suffering a heart attack a few minutes after her minor son died of snakebite in Rajgangpur tehsil of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Friday.

This tragic incident happened at the Dhengurpani village under Budhamba panchayat. The deceased were identified as six-year-old Gyandeep Kujur and his mother Sukanti Kujur.

On Friday afternoon, Gyandeep was bitten by a poisonous snake while he was playing in the field. He was rushed to the Rajgangpur community health centre, where doctors declared him dead.

The villagers brought the back the body of the child to his home. Seeing her son’s body, Sukanti was shocked. She suddenly complained of chest pain and fell unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police have registered two cases of unnatural deaths and an investigation is underway to ascertain the reasons behind their deaths.
