Odisha BJP to Launch 3-Day ‘Gaon Chala’ Campaign on Feb 9

Bhubaneswar: To strengthen the rural support base ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls, Odisha unit of the BJP is set to launch a three-day ‘Gaon Chala’ campaign across the state from February 9.

This outreach program envisions enhancing the vote share of the saffron party to more than 50 per cent in Odisha.

As part of this campaign, elected representatives, and state and district functionaries of the party will spend at least a day in their assigned villages to make party activists aware of the process through which public support can be garnered for the party.

The three-day campaign would cover all households to assess the mood of voters in villages ahead of the elections.

The grassroot level workers of the BJP will be trained to highlight the different welfare and developmental programmes launched by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre during the last 10 years.

According to sources, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Deepak Prakash is in charge of the village connect programme for Odisha. He took part in a workshop of party functionaries from all the 36 organisational districts in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

During the workshop, the importance of the door-to-door campaign and reaching out to all sections of voters with the message of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Modi guarantee’ was highlighted.
