South Superstar Vijay to Launch Own Party in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: South actor Vijay has started the process to launch his own political party in Tamil Nadu. According to NDTV, Vijay has been elected as party president and the process to register the party with the Election Commission of India has started. According to sources, around 200 members of the party’s general council took part in a meeting ahead of the registration. A Central Executive Committee of the party has been constituted along with appointment of its General Secretary and Treasurer.

The Central Executive Committee has authorised Vijay to decide on the name of the party. Quoting close sources, NDTV reported that Vijay will enter politics ahead of the 2026 state polls in Tamil Nadu and the name of the party will definitely have Kazhagam in it.

Vijay is quite popular in Tamil Nadu and is also said to be the next Rajinikanth of Tamil cinema. Vijay has acted in 68 films. With an aim to enter politics, he has been nurturing his fan clubs through charity and welfare measures including free distribution of food, educational scholarships, libraries, evening tuition, and even legal help.

Recently Vijay organised a constituency-wise programme to honour and felicitate student toppers in public exams.

Some of Vijay’s films have also taken controversial stands in targetting governments over the years.
